My name is Dina Ruth. I am 51 years old and I must tell you that I am quite new to the subject of personal development.
So… How did I get here, you might ask. Well, I had been watching a program on TV that mentioned the movie “The Secret”. I don’t know what it was that caught my attention, but I new that I had stumbled on something that was life changing! Could it be true that I was responsible for all the positive and negative things that appeared in my life? Could I be the one that decides how my life will look from now on?
At the time, I felt that I was in a rut. Divorced, Personal Development Mentoring with three kids, no money. I had nowhere to go… I had a part time job and money was scarce – to say the least. My parents really love me, but I was using them as a crutch, and I knew that I couldn’t lean on them forever. Who would help me? Where could I turn to?
I knew at that moment that only I could save myself from falling off the cliff that stood in front of me. If I didn’t help myself, than why should somebody else even bother?
I decided to take a leap of faith and depend on myself!
I felt that I had woken from a long sleep and that this was the beginning of a new age for me. I had become aware of the “law of attraction”. I had decided to change what I was attracting in life and would only let positive things into my atmosphere. That movie had been my first personal development course. I did my homework and the teacher appeared the moment the student was ready. Exactly after one week, I received a business offer by a friend that became my first personal development mentor and she changed my life around… 180 degrees.
At the time I didn’t know anything about business. (I even had a private business with no clients!)
Since then I have grown and changed and a lot of water has passed under the bridge.
Personal development, change, is a process and the main ingredient to that change is you. We are the authors of our own life drama. So, if we are the authors, we can change the details and the outcome of our own story! But how do we know which details to change in our life’s course so that we will live a life that is worth living? How do we know which path to take, so that we develop into our full potential and reap life’s richest benefits?
We need to nurture and develop a new set of life skills to reap the benefits of a life worth living.
